Relieve Stress and Pain with Natural Essential Body Oils

Essential body oils used regularly in aromatherapy include:
  • Roman Chamomile - an analgesic and anti-inflammatory used for skin conditions, menstrual pains, earache and depression.
  • Clary Sage - this natural astringent is generally used to treat oily skin and hair, and is useful in fostering the menstrual cycle, controlling high blood pressure and improving mood. (It shouldn't be used by pregnant women.)
  • Lavender - one of the most renowned ancient body oils which mixes well with most other essential oils and has significant stress relieving properties.
  • Myrtle - a disinfectant, antibacterial and fungicide. It is often used in treatments to alleviate symptoms of bronchitis, whooping cough and other respiratory infections.
  • Neroli - a citrus oil used to treat sore throat, stress and anxiety conditions as well as whooping cough.
  • Sweet orange - an essential oil used to treat stomach problems and popular for its reported ability to lift the mood as it relieves stress.
Designer fragrance body oils are considered emotionally uplifting, especially the ones that evaporate quickly. The slowly-evaporating designer fragrance body oils are thought to have an undeniable calming effect. The speed at which designer fragrance body oils evaporate in open air is considered to be linked to the specific psychological oil effect.

It's a fact that medical aromatherapy should be performed under the guidance of a licensed herbalist, nurse or physician; although some basic aromatherapy treatment of homemade bath salts and oils can be self-administered. These products can be produced from oil extracted from home-grown herbs or unique combination can be created with essential oils purchased at health food and herbal stores and introduced into home-made soap products.

Bath and body fragrance oils along with homemade bath salts and oils are known to generate excellent results. Homemade bath salts and oils usually calm the skin and aid in relaxation for fatigued aching muscles and joints. They usually help to relax sore, tired muscle and to gently relieve aches and pains. Homemade bath salts and oils normally leave you feeling refreshed and revitalized.

Homemade bath salts and oils contain the ingredients of salt, Epsom salts, glycerin and a fragrance or essential oil. It's simple to pour the mixture of essential oils and bath salts in warm water and even to add a little food coloring if you like. Bath and body fragrance oils are a little more sophisticated. Dried herbs are simmered in boiling water, strained, and mixed with with salts or powered milk with essential oils added. Details for creating such mixtures are easily found online and allow the user to develop unique combinations suited to their own physical and life conditions.
