Some Types of Aromatherapy Oils

There are some other types of aromatherapy oils you can buy. They are as follows

Resins

Resins are natural products that may be used in aromatherapy. Trees produce the resin when they are injured. Natural resins are thick and sticky. For aromatherapy purposes, natural resins can be quite difficult to use as they cannot be mixed with carrier oils or used in many of the ways that essential oils can be used. Liquid resins are easier to work with in aromatherapy. They are extracted by solvent or alcohol.

Blends

Blends are a mixture of essential oils. The blend may contain only the essential oils, or it may be mixed in with carrier oil or distilled water. Special blends are often created to treat certain problems or to produce a certain effect. People can create their own blends at home.

Most people will start with a couple of essential oils. Essential oils are all you really need to gain the benefits of aromatherapy. Aromatherapy carrier oils are very useful when you want to start making aromatherapy products or using the essential oils next to your skin. Resins, absolutes and CO2s are useful if there is a particular oil that you want which cannot be found as an essential oil. However, most people will have no need to buy them. Infused oils are a very good way to make your own aromatherapy oils. Hydrosols are also useful when you want a very mild version of an essential oil.

There is no need to feel you must buy all the different types of aromatherapy (or aroma therapy) oils. Before collecting your aromatherapy oils, you should consider the purpose for which you want to use aromatherapy oils. Buy aroma therapy oils that help you do the things you want to do. This might mean just buying one or two aromatherapy oils, or it could mean collecting resins, absolutes, CO2s and hydrosols.
