Aromatherapy essential oils can be bought singularly or as part of aromatherapy oil kits. You can also buy special blends and aromatherapy massage oils. Most aromatherapy oil kits and special blends will come with instructions on how the product can be used. Aromatherapy essential oils that are bought singularly may not have instructions on the package, but there should be instructions available at the place of purchase. It is important that you read any available aromatherapy instructions before use.Instructions for Using Aromatherapy Essential OilsBefore using any essential oils, you must read any instructions and warnings that are included. Some oils may not be appropriate for pregnant women (for example, rosemary). Others may not be appropriate for use in baths. The instructions included should tell you the best ways to mix and use the oils, and may even provide some suggestions for use.
Aromatherapy oils can be used in a number of different ways. The most popular way is to heat the oil in an oil burner. These can be purchased from aromatherapy shops, gift shops, supermarkets and even discount stores. The oil is placed at the top of the oil burner. A candle is lit and placed underneath, heating up the oil and releasing the fragrance. When using aromatherapy oil kits, you can combine two or three different oils in the same oil burner. Oil burners should be cleaned thoroughly after use, so that the remaining oil does not interfere with the next oils that you burn.
Baths are another popular way of using aromatherapy oils. Place one or two drops of each oil into your bath. Some oils may not be appropriate for baths as they will irritate the skin. Check your instructions first. Also, do not place any oils in the bath if you think they may cause an allergic reaction for you. Baths are a wonderful way to use essential oils and to receive some aromatherapy relaxation.
Many aromatherapy relaxation kits will include instructions on how to use the oils in a bath.
You can also use your aromatherapy oil kits in a massage. Some kits will even include a massage carrier oil, to which you can add the essential oils. You can also buy special blends that are used for massage. It is easy to make your own aromatherapy massage oils. Start with a natural oil like jojoba oil or almond oil. You can even use the materials in your kitchen and have olive oil as a carrier oil. Add the essential oils you want to use and then massage it into the skin.
These are the three most popular ways to use essential oils, but there are many others. Here are just some of them.- Add your essential oil to a bowl of steaming water. Place your face over the steam for an aromatherapy face sauna.
- Add a few drops to a handkerchief and place it inside your pillow for a relaxing night's sleep.
- Mix the essential oils with some distilled water and use it as an aromatic mist.
- Put some essential oils on your wrist.
