Creating your own aromatherapy perfumes and air fresheners can be very rewarding. Many people treat it as an exact science, following recipes for aromatherapy perfumes carefully and using all the top aromatherapy equipment to weigh and measure.
However, making aromatherapy perfumes and air fresheners does not have to be this difficult. You can start small and then progress to more intricate aromatherapy recipes, buying the equipment you need along the way. Here are two simple recipes for aromatherapy perfume and air freshener.

Aromatherapy perfume. Start with natural-based low-scent carrier oil. Jojoba oil, almond oil or apricot kernel oil work well. Add a few drops of one to three essential oils. If you want to mix different essential oils, use oils that belong to the same family. For example, make a perfume using rose, geranium and lavender, which all belong to the floral family. Put the mixture into a perfume bottle and apply it to your wrists.
Aromatherapy air freshener. Add about three drops of essential oil to distilled water. Add just one essential oil, or mix different essential oils. Find out which essential oils would be beneficial for you. If you suffer from migraines, choose a oil that helps relieve migraines. If you want to feel relaxed, choose a relaxing essential oil. You can also make different air fresheners for different moods and purposes. Put the mixture into a non-aerosol spray bottle. This mixture can also be used for spraying the body or spraying linen.
Is it Better to Buy or Make Aromatherapy Perfumes and Air Fresheners?
There are disadvantages and advantage to both buying and making aromatherapy perfumes and air fresheners.
Making your own aromatherapy perfumes and air fresheners is less expensive and can be very rewarding. You can also be sure that all the ingredients you use are natural and suitable for use.
However, the perfumes and air fresheners you make yourself may not smell as good as ones that can be bought. Most people do not have the correct equipment and scales to follow the detailed formulation of aromatherapy perfumes. That is not to say they do not smell good. A homemade aromatherapy air freshener or perfume can smell fantastic (and often smells better than commercial products).
