One of the best known and most used types of alternative treatments and remedies is aroma therapy. This type of therapy is based on a holistic approach of people and their illnesses or conditions. Aroma therapists make use of essential oils of plants, herbs and flowers. Every plant has its own attributions and healing properties that are all condensed into one drop of the essential oil coming from that specific plant. The oil is used in drinks, pills, massages and essential oil burners to name but a few methods.

People are suspicious about taking pills nowadays and want to use alternative treatments if they can to avoid regular medication. This trend was started because of the fact that consumers have become more critical and aware of the fact that foods, drinks and medication contain additives and ingredients that are not always good for us.
