Fragrance
Aromatherapy is a process that uses natural oils to enhance a person's health and well-being. The fragrances and scents that are infused into the oils can be absorbed into the lungs and bloodstream by simply inhaling the aroma. Fragrances can even provoke memories and so are very important. Different fragrances are said to promote well-being in different ways. Essential oils are made from distilling natural ingredients like plants, fruit and herbs. Fragrance oils are made from synthetic goods. These oils cannot be applied directly to the skin. Fragrance oils must be added to products such as soaps or lotions before they can be applied to the skin.
Various scents have different therapeutic qualities. For example; cedarwood and vanilla are said to have relaxing qualities. Cinnamon and Ylang-Ylang are sensual. Rose Geranium relieves stress. Eucalyptus and peppermint clears the sinuses. Lavender and Bergamot aids restful sleep. Lemongrass and cedarwood enhance a serene state of mind. These fragrances and more have many therapeutic benefits. They can be used to their advantage by adding them to baths, receiving massages with aromatherapy oils and adding the scent to bed linen. The fragrances can be used in oils that are added to the skin or can be added to a bowl of boiled water and left aside to let the fragrances drift around the home.
