Aroma Therapist

An aroma therapist is a person who uses aromatherapy for helping his patients to achieve their physical, spiritual and psychological wellbeing. His consultation generally starts with paying heed to his client's medical history and a close examination of his lifestyle, hypersensitivity, allergic responses etc. Based on this information he decides the kind of oils to be used for the treatment.

The need for services of the aroma therapist is increasingly felt in medical environments such as hospitals, dispensaries and infirmaries. An aroma therapist should have close contact with his clients. He should empathize with his patients. He should also have good listening and judgment skills to decide the best treatment. He should have genuine desire to help people.

Most important of all, he should know when to refer a patient to a qualified medicine practitioner. He should also have emotional stability and self- awareness. He should have the willingness and resources to travel to his clients' places as not everyone will be interested in visiting him.
