Infused Oils
Infused oils refer to a combination of carrier oil and various herbs. They are called as infused oils because they consist of carrier oil that has been infused with one or several herbs. Also because infused oils generally contain the therapeutic properties of both carrier oil and herbs that were infused into the oil. Infused oils are less concentrated than the essential oils. Like carrier oils they can also go rancid.
Infused oils are prepared by infusing a vegetable oil with the fragrance of an aromatic plant and then heating. They are very fragrant and do not evaporate. There are two basic methods for infusing. They are hot and cold. Generally hot infusion acts much quickly and gives the oil more color than the cold.
Infused oils can be used both in cooking and massaging depending upon its ingredients. But they are very rampantly used in cooking. A variety of oils can be used to make infused oils.
