Lavender Oil

Lavender oil is an essential oil obtained by distillation process from lavender flowers. There are two forms are lavender oil. They are lavender flower oil and lavender spike oil. The lavender flower oil is colorless oil and it is insoluble in water whereas lavender spike oil is not a pure compound. It is a mixture of various natural products. But lavender oil should not be consumed.

In aromatherapy lavender oil is used for its calming effect. It helps in relaxation and reduction of anxiety. It also helps in relieving headaches caused out of tension and stress. It can either be inhaled or diluted and applied onto the skin. It is also best in treating cough and respiratory infections. It is also used as first aid for a variety of ailments. It is used as pain reliever and anti septic medicine. Lavender oil can also be used as perfume. It is one of the most popular aromatic oils.
