Organic Essential Oils

Aromatherapy uses volatile plant oils including essential oils. These oils have been distilled using stems, barks, flowers, etc from plants. The oils are believed to enhance a person's psychological and physical well-being when applied correctly. Essential oils are also said to have been used for nearly a thousand years. Some oils are inhaled into the lungs while others are applied to the skin, diluted by carrier oil. Safety issues can include allergic reactions to the oils. Also, essential oils cannot be used undiluted on the skin as extreme sensitivity can occur. Some essential oils should not be used on the skin at all while pregnant women are advised to steer clear of most oils. Certain health problems such as asthma can be aggravated by the use of certain essential oils. They should not be ingested and are highly flammable.

Aromatherapy oils are generally thought of as mood enhancers; however, many products are mislabeled as aromatherapy oils. Some perfume oils and products containing non-natural ingredients claim to be essential oils but essential oils are made with 100% natural ingredients. Aromatherapy oils can be used in massages, bathing purposes and even around the home. Letting a few small drops of oil fall into a bowl of boiled water can allow a nice scent to waft around your home and freshen the room.
