Eucalyptus oil
The eucalyptus oil refers to an essential oil derived from the leaves and branches of the eucalyptus tree. It is also known as 'fever tree'. It has got strong anti - septic, anti bacterial and healing properties. It is steam distilled from the leaves. It can be used for cleansing and deodorizing and as food supplements. It is said that 110 ponds of the plant material is required to prepare just two pounds of the oil. This oil is widely used for fever and skin problems. They are used to treat cold and other respiratory ailments.
The active ingredient in eucalyptus oil is "eucalyptol". It also helps to combat exhaustion and mental apathy. The blends of eucalyptus and massage oils have cooling and stimulating effects. It helps to relax both body and mind. It should be applied in the pulse points. It is also used in sauna rooms which are used for psychological and beautification purposes.
